About B-T-E, Inc.

Gary C. Young, Ph.D., P.E.
President of Bio-Thermal-Energy, Inc. (B-T-E, Inc.)

Dr. Young has successfully commercialized new processes from the laboratory to process development, to engineering, to procurement, to construction, to training and startup with final management of the production operation. Furthermore, a new agricultural herbicide process was successfully completed from the laboratory to full scale commercialization without the need for a pilot plant. Dr. Young is the inventor of many patents. He has obtained work experiences with CONOCO, Stauffer Chemical Company, Beatrice Foods Company, Monsanto Company and Carus Chemical Company.

Current “technical and commercial economic” interests are with the conversion of “waste solids to energy” such as electricity and fuels. Dr. Young has several publications in this technical area and has recently published a book on waste to energy conversion processes: “Municipal Solid Waste to Energy Conversion Processes; Economic, Technical, and Renewable Comparisons,” by Gary C. Young, Ph.D., P.E., John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (publisher), June 2010, 384-pages. In addition, Dr. Young recently developed a novel thermal process for converting the Carbon dioxide (CO2) from a gaseous stream into energy and fuels. An article was published for the conversion of Carbon dioxide (CO2) from the Stack Gas emissions of a Coal-fired Power Plant to Gasoline using B-T-E’s Patented CO2 Conversion Technology, i.e., “Mitigate CO2 Emissions from industrial plants by conversion to fuels,” HP Special Focus | Clean Fuels, G.C. Young, Bio-Thermal-Energy, Inc., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Hydrocarbon Processing | FEBRUARY 2017.

Dr. Young holds B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska. He is a licensed professional engineer in the states of: California, Texas, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin. Dr. Young is the founder and owner of Bio-Thermal-Energy, Inc. (B-T-E, Inc.).
